Amphenol RF launches Innovation Showcase to highlight custom solutions

Amphenol RF has launched its Innovation Showcase, a look at customer specific solutions designed by the company’s global team of experienced engineers. The Innovation Showcase displays products developed through collaborative efforts with customers to solve problems that require custom solutions.

Amphenol-RF-innovation-showcaseThe Innovation Showcase will serve as a dedicated platform updated regularly with examples of customer specific solutions. Currently featured on this page is the AFI-Dart product series, a rectangular board-to-board connector system; Generation 4.0 FAKRA, a cost-effective interconnect solution for high volume applications; and the HSD to USB Adaptor, a panel mounted relay adapter that does not require jumper cables.

None of these products are standard; they are custom solutions that the company can reconfigure for specific requirements.

The AFI-Dart product series is a high-isolation, high-density connector series that was developed as an innovative solution by Amphenol RF engineers. Designed to be modular and scalable, it’s a cost-effective solution that offers low reflection and high float, with compliant pin solder-less configurations available. These connectors can be color coded to reduce the chance of mismating.

This series of connectors is manufactured with stamped and formed contacts and injection molded housings. They are an ideal board to board solution allowing for tight pitch. 50 and 75 Ohm products are available in multiple PCB and cable terminated configurations.

These FAKRA feature removable connector housings, for field replacement if necessary, and are mechanically keyed and color coded to prevent mismating on the production line. The latest FAKRA product offerings are compatible with all previous FAKRA products.

The HSD to USB adapter is an Amphenol RF robust sealed solution with an IP-67 rating. It was designed specifically as a rugged interconnect with the ability to withstand harsh environments. This product was initially used by a large manufacturer of farm and construction equipment in the cabin of their loader vehicles.

Amphenol RF manufactures coaxial connectors for use in radio frequency, microwave, and data transmission system applications. Standard products include RF connectors, coaxial adapters and RF cable assemblies. Custom engineered products include multi-port ganged interconnect, blind mate and hybrid mixed-signal solutions.
