Amphenol Socapex’s new cap ranges provide extra circular connecter protection

April 28, 2017 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

Amphenol-Socapex-Metallic-Standard-Caps-02 Amphenol Socapex launched three new ranges of protective caps for its circular connector products. These ranges round out the current standard series to provide complete and lasting protection for all MIL-DTL-38999 Series I, II and III, MIL-DTL-26482, RJ Field and USB Field connectors.

Amphenol Socapex’s self-closing caps offer real ease of use and optimal protection. They screw directly onto
receptacles and are available in two types of material:

  • composite for MIL-DTL-26482connectors;
  • aluminum for the MIL-DTL-38999 range (this version will be available soon)

Amphenol-Socapex-Metallic-Standard-Caps-04A vast choice of plating finishes — including nickel, black zinc nickel, and cadmium — is available to guarantee increased protection against corrosion, impacts, and vibrations. In addition, the metal cap for the MIL-DTL-38999 range is IP67 rated.

The standard versions with lanyard are compatible with MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-26482, RJ Field and USB
Field connectors. The caps are available in aluminum, stainless steel, and bronze with a wide range of plating finishes, lanyards and eyelets to meet every possible need, application, and environment (IP68).

Amphenol-Socapex-Rubber-Standard-CapsAmphenol Socapex’s silicone caps with nylon cord withstand temperatures up to 200°C and are compatible
with the aforementioned connectors. They are a cost-effective alternative and are IP67 rated for harsh environments where damage from dust and moisture is possible.

These new protective caps are delivered in four weeks maximum.
