Amphenol RF introduces anti-torque stainless steel connectors and cable assemblies

December 14, 2015 By Abby Esposito Leave a Comment

amphenolAmphenol RF is pleased to introduce anti-torque stainless steel connectors and cable assemblies to their expanding SMA product family. The new SMA connectors feature anti-torque bodies, which allow the user to hold the body with one wrench while simultaneously torqueing down the coupling nut to its mating connector with another. This helps to keep the entire assembly from twisting, thereby preventing damage to both the cable and the connector during installation.

The SMA connectors have a passivated stainless steel coupling nut over a gold-plated connector body. These connectors are available in straight plug configurations and designed to terminate with 0.085” conformable cable and 0.141” conformable cable.

The anti-torque stainless steel SMA cable assemblies are available in straight plug to straight plug configurations with 0.085” or 0.141” diameter conformable semi-rigid cable. For applications requiring a more flexible cable, TFlex 405 by Amphenol Times Microwave is available. Cables are available in standard imperial lengths of 6,7,8,9,10,12,18,24 and 36 inches, as well as metric lengths of 0.25, 0.50, 1.0 meters. Custom lengths are available.

Amphenol RF anti-torque stainless steel connectors and cable assemblies are designed to operate up to 18 GHz, making them ideal for high frequency applications.
