Bel Power Solutions announces ultra-low profile 40 watt ABC41 and MBC41 series of AC-DC power supplies

August 22, 2017 By Paige Beach Leave a Comment

Bel Power Solutions and Protection, a Bel group company and global manufacturer of power management devices, announces the expansion of their ABC Series open-frame, AC-DC power supply portfolio to include the ultra-low profile ABC41 (industrial) and MBC41 (medical) Series, with an industry leading footprint of 3″ x 2″ x 0.75″ (19 mm). Designed for OEM, industrial, telecom, datacom and medical applications, and specifically engineered for use in tight spaces, the high-efficiency units deliver 40 W of output power with natural convection cooling.

The ABC/MBC41 Series can be used in a broad array of space-constrained applications in which minimal power loss and easy thermal management are required. The convection- cooled power supplies are also ideal for designs in which the elimination of fan maintenance, audible/ambient noise and vibration is necessary, such as test and measurement equipment, wireless communications, renewable energy, automation and HMI touch panels. Increased flexibility is available via an optional PCB mount.

The power supplies accommodate a universal input voltage of 85-264 VAC or 390 VDC, 47-63 Hz. Standard features include input overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection and short circuit protection, and are available in 7 output voltages ranging from 5 V to 58 V, with an operating temperature range of -40° to +70° C. With a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 2 million hours, all parts come with either a screw-terminal connection, a Molex connector or PCB Mount pins. RoHS compliant and CE Marked, the power supplies are safety agency certified per UL and NEMKO and meet requirements of EN60950-1 (ABC41) and EN60601-1 medical 4th edition (MBC41).
