ERNI reduces lead times for multiple connector product lines

August 19, 2019 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

ERNI Electronics Inc., Richmond, Va. has substantially improved manufacturing lead times for a variety of its interconnect product lines. Production lead times are down to a couple of weeks for many selections. Various changes to optimize production and supply chain management have led to these improvements. Lead times will continue to drop as ERNI adds production capabilities in Thailand and the United States. The company recently broke ground on a state-of-the-art production facility in Chesterfield County, Va.

ERNI Electronics reduces lead times on connector productsProduct lines including the M8/M12 circular connectors, SMC connectors with a 1.27 mm pitch, MaxiBridge (2.54 mm) cable connectors and the ERmet series (2.0 mm Hard Metric), have delivery times reduced to a few weeks, depending on the configuration. For more details, the company recommends customers connect with their dedicated customer service rep or sales person for updated information.

ERNI continues to invest in highly automated production facilities and optimized process disciplines to shorten lead times. The company has made capital investments and recruited new staff in its operations and supply chain management departments. The use of an international procurement network makes purchasing even more target-oriented and reliable. This ensures an optimized alignment between incoming orders, warehousing and production. In addition, the procurement of materials and raw materials in the United States and Asia will increase.
