Fischer Connectors is formally introducing the new Fischer Freedom series connector to the medical market this year at MD&M West. This breakthrough connector will revolutionize how medical device manufacturers approach wearable device design, due to its unique configuration allowing 360-degree connectivity and freedom of movement.

The Fischer Freedom series has already won two prestigious design and engineering awards: Design World’s Leadership in Engineering Achievement Program (LEAP) Award in the Connectivity category, and Military & Aerospace Electronics Innovators Award at the Platinum level. The Freedom connectivity solution is currently available in a seven-pin configuration, with a plastic version and a miniature four-pin version due to be released later this year.

The entire product portfolio of Fischer Connectors showcased in its booth #1658 also includes new configurations of the ultra-miniature signal and power Fischer MiniMax series compliant with the latest data protocols USB 3.0, Ethernet and HDMI. In addition, the company will be showcasing brass, plastic and disposable configurations from the Fischer Core Series designed specifically for medical applications.

The Fischer Freedom series offers easy mating, easy cleaning and easy integration into fixed or wearable devices for any market, and is well suited to exoskeletons, mobile and patient-worn medical devices, and anywhere mobility and freedom of movement is paramount.

Jonathan Brossard, Fischer Connectors Group’s CEO, talked about the importance of being ready for change, regardless of industry: “The electronics world is changing at an incredible speed, and the connectivity solutions that make electronic ecosystems work efficiently, reliably and safely are instrumental in driving the technological innovations that shape our world. Our long-term vision for connectivity is based on our sense of responsibility as a global provider of pioneering and ultra-reliable connectivity solutions that are easy to use and to integrate into our customers’ devices.”
