HARTING honors leading distributors at EDS 2018

May 23, 2018 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

With HARTING enjoying an extended run of double-digit year-over-year sales increases in the Americas, the company took time at the EDS 2018 Summit to announce its annual honors for its leading distributors in recognition of their exceptional support. Each of the awards honors a distinct achievement.

HARTING DistyAwardsThe first award went to Mouser Electronics, honored with the first-ever Global High-level Distributor of the Year award. Three global metrics were taken into consideration when selecting the award winner: point of sale (POS) revenue growth, new product sales growth, and new customer count growth.

The second was the Distinguished Award for New Customer Growth, to RS Components, which added more point of sale (POS) customers in 2017 than any other distributor.

Digi-Key Electronics was presented with the Distinguished Award for New Product Sales Growth, as it drove the highest new product sales growth.

The final award, Distinguished Award for Design Win of the Year, was given to Allied Electronics. Allied Electronics’ Sales Team was responsible for the design-in of HARTING’s Han-Modular solution into an energy application. This was an excellent example of converting a customer from hardwiring to connectorization in one of HARTING’s focus markets. The customer is not only using Han-Modular connectors, but has asked HARTING to build its entire lineup of custom cable assembly solutions, which incorporate HARTING modules for power, signal, and data. This design win could not have been a success without the excellent support of Allied Electronics and will drive significant revenue for HARTING in fiscal years 2018, 2019, and beyond.

The company has a tradition of announcing these annual awards at its EDS Open House event, presided over this year by Mr. Edgar-Peter Duening, Managing Director Global Business Units, Electric & Electronics, and Mr. Jon DeSouza President, and CEO of HARTING Americas. “An important part of HARTING’s success can be attributed to our excellent distribution network and great distributor partners like these four,” says DeSouza. “The company enjoyed almost 15% sales growth worldwide in our last fiscal year, with 22% growth in the Americas. With such strong distributor partners, and many great new HARTING products and solutions entering the market or in the R&D pipeline, we feel extremely optimistic about sustaining sales growth of this magnitude for the foreseeable future.”
