M12 Slim Design female connector: Customers apply this solution successfully in order to achieve higher integration densities.

With immediate effect the new HARTING M12 Slim Design is not only available in the male, but also in the corresponding female version – thereby completing the compact M12 variants in crimp connection technology. The advantage for the customers: They can also apply this solution successfully in order to achieve higher integration densities.

HARTING has thereby extended the product portfolio for the Gigabit Ethernet application area with a second slim variant that has been significantly reduced both in diameter and in length. The outer diameter has been slimmed down to 16.5 mm, allowing a high integration density to be achieved with appropriate devices such as switches. In addition, the housing is significantly more robust, being able to withstand torques of up to 1.5 Nm. The connectors with x-coding conform to IEC 61076-2-109, and comply with Cat. 6A and Performance Class EA.

Han F+B
Plastic connector Han F+B: Customers receive hygienically faultless solutions.

In the food industry, hygienic safety takes the highest priority. HARTING has now launched the Han F+B connector series that is optimized in terms of specific ambient conditions and breaks through the existing limitations in plant and equipment design. Customers receive hygienically faultless solutions that fully conform with market dominating requirements.

Han F+B was developed specially for the splash zone (Zone 2). The patent pending design is consistently characterized by large radii and smooth surfaces in line with the EHEDG guidelines. In the product contact area and the spray zone, all surfaces must be as smooth as possible and free of spaces or gaps. Nonconformity creates so-called dirt traps where food can stick and contaminate the plant with bacteria. A PP plastic is employed here that is resistant to ECOLAB certified cleaning materials and is also FDA approved. As production equipment and systems are often cleaned with high pressure and steam cleaners with the addition of aggressive cleaning agents on an acid or alkaline basis, achieving protection class IP69K is an essential precondition. Presenting the Han F+B, HARTING is now offering the option of more than twelve different contact inserts for the transfer of bus systems, signals and power contacts up to 40 Amperes. Power transmission and optical fibre technology as well as the corresponding diverse connection technologies round-off this extensive portfolio. In brief: A new connector series for the food production area providing new options over hard wiring solutions.

The implementation of integrated industry (Industry 4.0) requires new solutions for hardware, software and system design. The HARTING modular open platform is a solution which enables customers to implement their integrated industry projects rapidly and cost-efficiently.

The HARTING modular open platform enables customers to implement their integrated industry projects quickly and cost-effectively.

The demand for compact, robust computers, which can perform de-central tasks in the field, will increase in the wake of integrated industry. This enables customers to structure production in a more modular, simple and cost-effective way and to position themselves competitively. The key to success lies in the use of standardized interfaces and open, well-established software as well as easy upgradability by customers.

HARTING’s modular open platform consists of a set of hardware modules and software apps. All customers also have the option of adding their own hardware and software. The benefits for customers – first of all, cost reductions through savings on servers and PCs in production and time saving in terms of integration. A further benefit: the developers select the programming language of their choice.

The open approach enables rapid prototyping. The hardware and software basis also offers the quality and security required to enable the system to be deployed reliably for years in production with applicable software modules. Service level agreements, guarantee extensions and long-term availability are also available as well as technical support and on-site assistance.

If functions are lacking, the platform is designed to enable customers to add them themselves at minimal cost. Users can also add customer-specific hardware modules thanks to the internal USB interface. The customer’s own software apps can also be integrated just as easily.

Ha-VIS eCon Ethernet Switches
Thanks to their compact dimensions, the switches of the Ha-VIS eCon familiy fit in anywhere.

The new Ha-VIS eCon Ethernet Switches offer the complete integrated solution for data and power transfer in one device, while reducing cabling effort and costs at the same time.

Besides stable data communications with a high bandwidth, industrial devices need a reliable supply of power. The new Ha-VIS eCon Ethernet switches from HARTING therefore offer high performance Power over Ethernet Plus for the supply of power to industrial devices. With a data transfer rate of 1000 Mbit/s simultaneously on all ports and with the support of PoE+, the Ha-VIS eCon series offers functions enabling the efficient and future-proof design of equipment, systems and plants. Over and beyond the PoE/PoE+ standard, we are offering the new switches with an integrated DC/DC voltage converter. In this case the switches can be supplied with 24V instead of the 48/54 V usually required. This provides users with more flexibility in the connection of end devices and the expansion of the network, saves on components such as power supplies and reduces assembly time and space. Thanks to their compact dimensions, the switches of the Ha-VIS eCon familiy fit in anywhere. With over 200 switch models, users can select exactly the combination of performance characteristics and port combinations that fit the particular application perfectly.
