W. L. Gore & Associates has introduced a new line of High Speed Data Cables for Ultralight Solutions, designed to reduce cable weight while maintaining signal integrity and mechanical durability. The new cables are up to 50% lighter than many comparable high-speed data cables currently in use.
Compared with Gore’s existing high-speed cable range, the Ultralight Solutions variants achieve up to 25% additional weight reduction. The design targets original equipment manufacturers developing systems where mass reduction directly affects performance and efficiency. Typical applications include defense drones, advanced air mobility (AAM) platforms, and both rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft.
The cables are available in multiple configurations supporting standard communication protocols, including CAT6A Ethernet, CAN BUS, and 100-ohm shielded twisted pair. They are intended to provide reliable signal transmission, flexibility, and long service life under demanding environmental and operational conditions.
Samples are currently available for evaluation through Gore’s sales channels.
