Chogori M8 connectors for process control applications

September 22, 2016 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

chogoriChogori, a supplier of rugged and harsh environment connectors, has developed a series of sealed M8 connectors for the process control market. Utilized on factory floors for automation, packaging, material handling, and food and beverage applications, the M Series is available in IP67-rated versions. The screw-locking, waterproof M8 connector ensures a safe and secure connection that is impervious to vibration, liquids, dust and other materials—which is particularly important in food & beverage splash areas.

The M8 Series connectors are available in plastic housings that are resistant to chemicals commonly found in process control environments. Contact pins are made of copper alloy with gold over nickel plating for mechanical stability. The brass connector body and cable are overmolded for strength and better operating performance.

“The sealed design of the M8 Series innately offers the level of environmental protection desired in process control applications. Whether the application demands standard waterproofing or an IEC IP67 rating, Chogori M Series M8 connectors offer a wide range of models that can meet the specific application requirements,” said Kelvin Ng, Sales Director. “In addition, the screw-locking mechanism simplifies the cleaning process in food & beverage applications by being able to withstand washdowns.”

The compact M Series connectors are offered in variations ranging from 3 to 4 contacts, a rated current of 3 A, a rated voltage of 30 or 60 V and an operating temperature of -40 to 85°C.
