Peel-A-Way Removable Terminal Carriers are a unique way to make board-to-connections, especially in tight spaces that require low profiles and easy installation. These designs offer a simple, economical method for automated pin loading. They reduce PCB assembly costs and improve quality by replacing hand loading operations and allowing total visual inspection of solder joints.
Made from a RoHS Compliant polyimide film carrier that acts as its own insulator, this flexible interconnect solution is available in many configurations including single, dual, and triple rows from 2 to 100 positions per row, as well as DIP and PGA sockets and adapters, standard and interstitial
arrays, zig zag strips, off pitch, and special radius. They can be easily customized with multiple terminal/pin styles or cut-outs for use in prototype or production applications.
Compared to traditional molded insulators, the ultra-thin, 0.005 in. (0.13 mm) polyimide film carrier, employing near flush solder tail terminals (Type -210), reduces component height above the PC board by as much as 80%, down to 0.015 in. (0.38 mm). For board-to-board applications, standard PCB spacing (stack height) options range from 0.045 in. (1.14 mm) to 0.250 in. (6.35 mm) with custom options available to suit virtually any application.
Using them is simple. After soldering for complete solder joint visibility, you simply peel the carrier off or leave it in place for added stability in socketing applications.
All designs feature screw-machined terminals for superior reliability.
