TE Connectivity (TE), Harrisburg, Pa. announces its RayOLOn reusable roll-on sealing sleeves. The reusable sealing sleeves are a family of products designed to help protect connectors, electrical cable splices and other cylindrical substrates from harsh environmental elements like salt spray and water moisture. The sealing sleeves save both time and money since they do not require any extra tooling.
“Our customers are looking for a sealing solution that is clean and efficient, while still providing excellent protection,” said Dan Redmon, Product Manager, Global Aerospace, Defense & Marine, TE Connectivity. “TE’s RayOLOn sleeves are an economical solution that provides environmental protection, improving any cable’s resistance to harsh weather.”
Used primarily in marine and offshore applications onboard ships and between ships and docks, RayOLOn sleeves can also be used in applications where weather protection is critical. The sleeves provide easy maintenance and repair, eliminating the need to stock replacement parts such as sealing tape or heat shrink components. They provide environmental sealing by simply rolling the sleeve over the area to be protected, and it can be rolled off to provide access to the component underneath. There is no need to cut away an enclosure to do a repair. Torches or heat guns are not needed to ensure a good seal, which is useful in areas where motorized heat sources or open flames are prohibited or undesirable.
RayOLOn sleeves help protect connectors and splices against corrosion over time, which can lead to less downtime for maintenance. The operating temperature is –40° to 70° C. RayOLOn sleeves are available in many sizes and are available in packaged kits for convenience.
