TE Connectivity launches new Deutsch 983 series connectors with gauge 22 contacts

January 4, 2017 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

TE-22-contactsTE Connectivity recently announced its DEUTSCH 983 series hermetic connectors extension with gauge 22 contacts.

Part of the EN2997 engine connector portfolio, the 983 series connectors are one of the industry’s first hermetic EN2997 connectors to offer size 22 contacts. Ideal for commercial air and military applications, the connector’s high-density design allows for more electrical contacts in the same space while maintaining high performance and reliability. These hermetic receptacles complete the range of EN2997 sealed socket connectors, containing #22 contacts.

Capable of withstanding extreme vibrations and high-temperature (up to 260°C) environments in many rugged military and commercial aircraft engine and booster systems, TE’s 983 series connectors are ideal for connections with differential pressures. The connectors are self-locking, anti-rotation, and have shell-to-shell metal bottoming for high performance.

“The commercial aerospace market is always looking for connectors with the highest density in the smallest area,” said Tom Lemenager, product manager of global aerospace, defense & marine at TE Connectivity. “TE is the first to offer a size 22 high density connector that’s EN2997 qualified.”
