TE Connectivity retains qualification of SAE

March 4, 2015 By Rachel Poling Leave a Comment

TE Connectivity (TE), announces the retention of qualification on the Qualified Products List (QPL) for its 150 ° Celsius-rated SolderSleeve shield-grounding terminators to SAE-AS-83519/1 and /2. These shield terminators, S01 and S02 part numbers, have been designed to attach a ground lead to a cable shield to bring electrical disturbances to ground, delivering an environmentally sealed and encapsulated solder connection. “We’re pleased to confirm we have retained our qualification for our shield terminators. Re-qualification is essential in retaining the QPL, and our products continue to meet these stringent requirements,” said Mark Taylor, Product Manager, TE Connectivity, Global Aerospace, Defense & Marine. “Our shield terminators provide excellent and time-tested environmental resistance, long-term performance and reliability. They are easy to install and offer a lower installed cost for splicing and terminating wires using our solder and heat shrink technology.”

The prefluxed solder preform provides a controlled and repeatable soldering process, while the transparent tubing allows for efficient visual inspection. The shield terminators are also small in size and extremely light weight.

TE’s SolderSleeve shield-grounding terminators are ideal for military aerospace, commercial aerospace and military ground systems applications.
