HARTING, Elgin, Ill., has introduced three Han Torque Tool sets and a screwdriver set designed to make field termination of its Han industrial connector products easy when employing either screw or axial screw technologies. HARTING invented axial screw termination as an alternative to crimp connections for larger gauge wires. Axial screw termination makes extremely durable, vibration-proof connections and is a convenient solution for repair work, with the ability to handle conductor cross-sections to 100 mm2.
The three Han Torque Tool sets are designed to allow installers to apply the precise amount of torque for making highly reliable terminations. The tools in each torque set as well as the screwdriver set are tailored to the Han product range, and remove any guesswork about which to use for each HARTING axial screw or screw termination job. The torque sets for high-current axial contacts (09 99 000 0833) and power contacts (09 99 000 0834) feature variably adjustable torque screwdrivers that work in the torque range of 5-14 Nm and 1-5 Nm. This means products such as the Han 200A Axial or the Han 40A Axial can be easily and securely installed. Installation is as easy as adjusting and applying the tightening torque appropriate for the wire gauge. HARTING’s torque kit (09 99 000 0835) includes two pre-set, tightening torque screwdrivers with a fixed value of 0.5 Nm and 1.2 Nm, which are suitable for screw contacts and fixing screws. The tool kit portfolio is rounded out by the Han VDE screwdriver set (09 99 000 0836), which is optimally designed for use with Han connector products like Han A, Han D AV, Han E AV, Han E as well as the PE contacts for some of the same and other Han products.
