July 7, 2015 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

TPC-on-board-diagnosticsTPC Wire & Cable Corp., Macedonia, Ohio, is pleased to introduce a new on-board diagnostic (OBD-II) plug for automotive technicians performing vehicle testing and programming. TPC’s OBD-II Interface offers technicians a molded plug design that can be easily changed out, which reduces downtime for increased productivity.

The made to order OBD-II Interface utilizes a J1962 based vehicle interface that is customizable to the specific communications needs of any vehicle manufacturer. Constructed with high quality TPC Wire & Cable products, the OBD-II Interface includes an overmolded design as well as a variety of custom options such as adapter or direct cable exit option, length, size, color, LED indicator light, pinouts and opposite end connections.

“Our new on-board diagnostic system is going to be revolutionary for any auto technician who is looking for a durable, custom-fit OBD-II assembly that will allow for a quick and easy change out and reduce downtime,” said Rick Taylor, Engineering Manager at TPC. The OBD-II Interface will benefit facilities in the automotive industry. More specifically, handling state operated emissions testing, final ECM checkout emissions testing, and systems programming applications (airbags, ABS, comfort systems).
