Amphenol Fiber Systems MIL-PRF-28876 (M28876) connectors available from ICC

February 16, 2022 By Mary Gannon Leave a Comment

As an authorized value-added distributor for Amphenol Fiber Systems International (AFSI), ICC now offers MIL-PRF-28876 (M28876) connectors with Black Hard Anodized PTFE (BHA-PTFE) plating. Conforming to MIL-PRF-28876 Revision E, the latest environmental standard for fiber optic interconnects, these robust connectors are ideal for Navy applications and other harsh environment systems.

Amphenol-FSI-at-ICCBHA-PTFE is a hard, durable anodized finish with an additional PTFE component. This finish is considerably thicker than the previous cadmium plating. The PTFE additive also helps the hard anodized surface improve its salt spray corrosion resistance. As a result, M28876 connectors with BHA-PTFE plating are exponentially more scratch-resistant and salt spray corrosion-resistant while maintaining equivalent or better standards for other environmental, chemical and mechanical conditions required for the MIL-PRF-28876 specification.

To complement its MIL-PRF-28876, Rev. E BHA-PTFE fiber optic connector line, Amphenol Fiber Systems also offers backshells and dust caps. Backshells utilize Amphenol Fiber Systems’ Quickloc™ captivation system and are available in straight, 45° and 90° configurations. The connector dust caps provide protection from contaminants to ensure optimal performance.
